Hybrid Evaporator
The Hybrid/Evaporator was designed to bridge the gap between lime stabilization and a drier. The RDP Hybrid/Evaporator is designed to be able to dry sewage sludge cake to over 90% dry solids. The H/E is unique in that it can also produce a Class A product at less then 90% dry solids. This saves energy, 25% less, has a lower carbon footprint as a result of less energy consumption, while producing a more balanced and nutrient efficient soil conditioner then the bone dry product. Dusting is not an issue nor are the odors objectionable.
The Hybrid Evaporator is a semi continous batch process. The Evaporator Drum sits on load cells so that we know how many pounds of cake are laoded at each fill cycle. Similarly as water is evaporatated we see a reduction in weight being registered by the load cells. The PLC program calucates the solids concentration in the drum. As 1,000 pounds of water is evaporated and other 1,000 pounds of cake is added. Periodically, biosolids are discharged after they have met the 503 requirements for time and temperature.
The unique aspect of the Hybrid Evaporator is that it can make a Class A bone dry product or a Class A dirt like product which lead to our slogan “...from dust to dirt and everything in between...”
